He said he likes big women. So he wants her to stay big. And he seems to have some fear of her losing weight, and leaving him. So I think he wants her to remain dependent on him. He’s not the first husband on the show to act like that. There is an old episode with a girl named Christina, and her husband was mad she lost enough weight to shave her own legs. He couldn’t stand that she wasn’t completely dependent on him anymore. He left her.

Some people want their partner to stay on a certain level out of insecurities. She does nothing but sit in that dirty house all day. She has a nurse practioner, or some kind of nursing degree, and she wants to work. That will allow her to leave the house, and possibly meet a man with a job, with her new slimmed down body. He knows he has nothing going for himself but the ability to bring her food.
