That’s why I was asking you. If you ever have a chance to watch it - let me know. I’ve seen it. I would say no- not in the stereotypical sense bc his character (black teenager) is already stand alone and portrayed as very gifted with advanced writing ability. He’s not doing any of that dumb shuck jive “ize thank youz” routine either. To me, it’s black scholarship student from talented gifted program transfers from neighborhood school in the Bronx attends private school for educational advantage. Links up with reclusive Pulitzer Prize winning author who has an disorder which makes him never leave his house (agoraphobia). If anything - it makes white people look bad/morally inept, as black student outsmarts, out thinks them and remains composed, (which is why this movie wasn’t that widely acclaimed or known).
