My daughter does not apply herself with math and then I’m all “if Johnny had 10 mf’n Apples...” I really love math and I hate when people don’t get it, even my own. Help me, Jesus.

Have you tried LEGOs? They’re a godsend with fractions. Candy (or fruit snacks) is good for basic addition and subtraction

I feel your pain ! You have no idea how many times I was like:

:damn: If Ben has 4 apples and gives 3 to Sarah, how many apples does he have left!?!?!:damn:Come on P jr.!!!

:shaq2:

IF BEN HAS 4 DAMN APPLESAND GIVES 3 TO SARAH, HOW MANY APPLES DOES HE HAVE LEFT?!?
:mindblown:

( I’m thinking, in my head of course.... the boy might be slow...:lupe:)

:salute:It’s a part of parenting , my boy is in the IB program (pre-IB right now)and he’s taking college courses next year in the 10th grade ( it’s free:smugdraper:)

It just takes time boo I promise

I truly believe some peoples brains aren't wired for math. Then for some it comes on later in life. (I got good at it in college, due to the failures of the non-caring bullshyt teachers in the poorer houston area public schools).

She’s in algebra. There are plenty of resources, she just doesn’t apply herself. Won’t look at the class notes or ask questions. I get so mad!! She gonna be a 7th grade drop out. :mjcry:

If I say step 1 is to do xyz, she does it. Step 2, blah blah blah, she does it. I shouldn’t have to stand there for 6 similar problems that require the same damn steps to solve over and over again. She about to be in kindergarten math. I could handle that.
