at what point do preferences become unreasonable?

i have friends who are chronically single because they won't adjust their preferences.
how can you want to date younger girls but complain they're not mature and are airheads? they don't even know who they are yet. they still need time to mature. you should date someone older.
how can you complain about dating older men that aren't mature? if they are older and mature, they're taken or want a younger girl than you. you are complaining about leftovers.

if someone understands you, you understand them, and are attracted to each other. does it really matter how old they are or where they're from?
