Tom Cruise so use to getting the shot perfectly everytime, two in the chest one in the dome it was his downfall. He didn't react to the spontaneous situation of a black out and a train steel door in the way saved Jamie Foxx completely who throughout the whole movie was learning to react and evolve on situations. Jamie evolved and Cruise didn't and evolution won as usual.
