Again, I’m not into politics but the insanity in some of these conversations recently is amazing to behold.
Socialism works well when there is a strong tax base that can support the programs that actively split the wealth amongst the citizenry while allowing those who pay the most into it to live enough without much protest. In these favorable circumstances, it can hide itself well under the guise of a democracy, a republic, etc.
However, once a shock hits the tax base..whether it be under massive unemployment, mis-spending,etc and tax receipts are unable to support government largesse you will get contraction. Loss of services, public and private, until you get to a point where out of absolute necessity the government takes control of all essential services and productivity to head off civil unrest. This will be welcomed at first but after awhile, you’ll see the fangs bare.. This is socialism graduated to communism..at this point, you’re no longer counted as a human being but a measure of potential productivity to the State.
This is dangerous because once someone looks at you as not being human, you can be easily discarded as a “non-productive” state asset. Republicans share this viewpoint because they are vested in human capital producing, albeit for private companies, but also for state and Federal revenues. Folks we are rapidly approaching this nexus..it WILL not produce roses and tulips like some of these radicals are championing..it will end in another Mao’s Great Leap Forward and Stalin’s infamous purges. Both of which were spurred by trying to revolutionize their anemic and failing economies..hint hint.
