i think my new co-workers are generally dumb and i'm seeing the talent gap between the people who move/live/work here in the bay and NY and what's available in the middle of the country...the best and the brightest really do move to the coasts

i have a real hard time working and maintaining a good attitude with people who i don't think are smart

lol, i won't say they're dumb, but i will say i'm starting to see truth to the statement that the best talent tends to pool in the coastal/power cities. like the brightest, most ambitious people from the south, midwest, etc are likely to make their way to a coastal city ny, dc, boston, SF, seattle, LA, or a regional power city - chicago, dallas, atlanta, etc. - and not stay in their local community. i'm working with a bunch of folks from bumfukk cities/towns and it's clear this company just hires who is close to the HQ, not the best talent. the dropoff in the talent level of my previous coworkers out here in the bay compared to these people is huge.
