Morris day, who was widely known as the lead singer was always a well established and talented drummer who created all of the drum sets for this album. However the debate has always been whether Prince used a drum machine to create this song set or if Morris created it and taught it to Jellybean Johnson.

One of MJs most talked about musical talents was the ability to create specific different parts to a song completely in his head, which included all harmonies, chords and key changes if necessary.
