Whenever I convince myself that I want to put the work in for a relationship, something bad happens in a close friend’s relationship that makes me abandon the idea. This time is was my “fault”...if that’s a good word to use.

Went out to a little club Friday and saw a quarter on the floor. I’m Mr. Krabbs about change so since my homegirl was closest, I asked if she could get it. She couldn’t reach it, so she walked around in front of the two guys talking, excused herself and asked if she could get the quarter. At the same time, I’m trying to get the quarter too because I didn’t want her to do all that (interrupt their convo).

Well as she’s standing back up (I had gotten to the quarter before her and it ended up rolling away) her man is coming and I guess it looked like to him she was standing up from in between some dudes legs so he flipped, and kinda grabbed her on some aggressive shyt. She tell him she was getting a quarter for me, but the quarter is gone because I had it and now he think she lying and she’s confused cause the shyt is gone. Meanwhile her cousin see’s this and she’s going off!

I’m oblivious to his anger, the cousin and her confusion because I’m trying to find the damn quarter. I finally retrieve the quarter and all hell has now bust loose. She crying, the cousin is cussing, the boyfriend flipping out. Boyfriend tells her “Why would she even tell you to get the quarter?” So now I feel bad. They ended up breaking up Saturday.
