I always thought it was a mixed neighborhood of West Indians/AAs, (my parental family who is Afro-Guyanese is from there but I'm not a super expert on NYC neighborhoods so they might have been from a neighborhood bordering South Jamaica and called it South Jamaica)

Well sometimes Jamaica is used as a catchall for all those neighborhoods there. Lots of black and Indo Guyanese there. theres West Indians in every black hood but South Jamaica is more traditionally AA

My mother has just done her throat biopsy and already she's the hospital again because of her throat feeling like choking last night.

Thank goodness she's feeling better now that she was given some temporary medication but we have yet to get the biopsy results. I'm getting very afraid on what the doctor will tell us at this rate.
