Very true! It’s like the roles are switching between rappers and singers, like you said. I’m so over the trap influence that has taken over R&B (and even rap too). I just miss traditional sounding R&B with good/soulful vocals, good chords and true musical progression throughout. Like the music today just sounds the same throughout, I can’t even name 5 newer R&B songs that even have a bridge. I dunno, it just sucks.

I keep an open mind but at the end of the day, good music is good music and u know it when u hear it.
