LOL people can't even make a turkey sandwich in a professional kitchen but want to tell me how to actually cook something. HAHAHA, naw. There's a reason I get paid to cook and plan menus. Maybe I know what I'm talking about, just maybe.

Most cooks I know do not even eat food prepared by home cooks because it's never perfect. In our world it's gotta be perect. Anyone can make eatable food. Anyone, if that's your standard anything will go. Food is like art anyone can draw. Any toddler can pick a pencil and make a line. That's drawing at it's most basic form.

But an artists can take the same pencil and make the same line look better, or draw you a professional looking drawing in a short period of time. Or maybe use different styles of line drawing from around the world. An artist can explain to you what a line is and it's value in the culture.

Most food is good but when us pros get our minds and hands on it, it's going to be next level and perfect. Here's a shocker, sometimes perfect won't taste good to someone who's never had it done perfectly.

I used to think my mom was the best cook ever. She made everything herself. Now that I cook professionally I never eat my moms food because it's trash technically. She can cook anything, but thats her problem, she's mastered nothing and doesn't understand the dishes she's making. But she can complete the recipe.

There's level to this shyt. There's making eatable food, which can be done by a microwave, then there's professional cooking and they're two very different things.

shyt there's level to professional cooking. Not every cook can cook the same style of foods. Everyone has a base and they work from there. For example my base training is in vegetables and Italian food. So don't ask me about no curry, although I can make curry from scratch, it wouldn't be as good as the cook who's trained in Japanese and Indian food. Yes, Japanese people make their own curry, shyt is fire too.

If you ask a Japenese cook to make you soup you're getting Miso Soup or some shyt. It'll be fire but not really what you expected. If you ask me to make you soup I'm going to make a vegetable based soup. You ask my boss you'll get some classic french shyt, ask my sous chef and you'll get some very artsy creative central american shyt.

We are all cooks, but we come from different spaces.

I guess you just gotta be a cook to understand the game. Home cooks use recipes. Pro cooks do not. We just figure it out from smell, sight, and taste. I can't remember the last time I actually used a recipe or measured something.

So Baltimore City schools have been under investigation for the last year or so and they found most of the schools arent proficient in reading and math. Stories of grade changing, parents removing kids from school and even had this one full ass adult who couldn't read a sign in the high school he graduated from.

Fast forward to this week and a lot of the schools didn't have adequate heating and some pics were circulating with kids sitting in class with their winter coats. Everyone went nuts! They complaining left and right calling down the schools and the whole nine.

My thing is, why didn't anyone get angry when it was revealed the kids aren't even learning!...heat or not. It's winter and most schools are old. I have more understanding of a couple of cold days than I do for children who get a decade of "education" and are still unable to read after it.
