i'm facing the reality that i can be "scary" or "intimidating" at work (mainly to people who don't talk to me often). not sure how i feel about that, but being the only black woman, i do get self conscious about it since it tends to be a stereotype about us. but my "intimidating" nature really has nothing to do with me being black as much as i don't like stupid people, inefficient processes, people who aren't self starters, and the fact that i'm just not warm and giggly with people off jump. if you show me you're competent and/or just fukking have a conversation with me, it's easy to see i'm actually pretty goofy and good natured.
