As I'm working on this Fantasy novel it's becoming pretty disheartening to realize that it probably won't be successful at all. It's nice to hope and dream but at the same time I have to be realistic. The main character is a Black woman, a darkskinned one at that. A female lead is hard enough especially when this story isn't centered around romance. And on top of this it's set in a world full of strictly melanated people. This isn't going to have much appeal to white people who are the largest consumers of fantasy. If I want this story to have some broader appeal it looks like I'll have to change some things around
