Can't believe my mom actually played this song in the car when my bro and me were kids.
she was scared to play rap but she would play cbs fm, the oldies station and the underground dancehall/reggae station wnwk with Gil bailey and pat bailey (rip), Jeb barnes, Patrick smith which she would dub on her cassette. used to sing this song too as a kid until i got older and realized the pianist sounded like something else that didn't sound like pianist. 
I still have the cassette in my closet somewhere. There was this song "love throne" by snagga puss that was the most unintentionally funny song I've ever heard. He was really high as shyt on that song but the beat was sick. 
I think I was exposed to some things way too early but then think that's my generation period.
