Personally I'd advise against the laptop since most of what you are paying for is the portability as opposed to having power which means the obvious but if you can make use of the portability then

I'm doing some consultations on the side, I can play it off easier looking like I'm taking notes and shyt while in reality I'm on my Battlefield 1 drive with the laptop.
Which is always dope, I can't hate. I'm just really like to be in my zone and not be distracted while playing so playing in public or not in my area I'd be bothered. Also I'd be wary of games like battlefield where if you try to run it too hard on your laptop it may cause overheating issues.
Honestly I'm gearing up to leap to pcPeople buying Xbox one x when they can just get a PC for a couple more hundred dollars and increase their options

That's got good parts but yeah, CPU processors can overheat depending on how intensive what you are doing can be. I don't know personally how good your cooler may be
You won't regret it, so many options and deals.
