Some people engage in debate, not only to state their case but also in the hopes of finding an opinion articulated well enough to change their minds and possibly expand their horizons.
So it's either that or they were disappointed they didn't get the chance to verbally/intellectually trample you with the full range of their counter-arguments.
Which do you think is more likely, in this case?

I understand this as I am a big culprit of doing the second thing in particular.

I'd say the first choice as in previous instances where we've could have had a full debate they've avoided it. When arguing someone's best interest I'm not gonna ignore facts just to be "right".

i don't understand how you ask for my opinion, i give said opinion

you counter with an opposing view that is very valid as well as supported with evidence, i support it because it's ignorant and illogical to respond otherwise

and you are dissapointed in me because i agree with you???
People like that tend to either overthink a scenario to death or they just want to play on their intelligence because they have already thought of all the perspectives.

Beyond that, the fact that you agree with them could probably make them think that you didn't really think it through to give them a substantive response...which is ironic in this case because you actually thought it through,.
