As an OG it's my job to tell the young brothers this:
Growing up we didn't need to know martial arts because we either threw hands or starting shooting and stabbing. Young folks don't assume someone about 30 is scared because they're calm during a confrontation. They're calm because they've decided to poke or shoot something. My generation is comfortable with violence and we will fukk you up. My generation grew up on gangster rap and extreme violence was normalized.
There's a reason our music is so hard and being a peace loving hippie is considered cool now. We thugged it out, lol. Cats wore Timbs to stomp people out. Baggy clothes were worn to conceal weapons and drugs. We rolled deep because getting caught slipping usually meant getting jumped and rolling deep meant you never got caught slipping.
I've seen a lot of violence in my life. It's not something I'm proud of.
