People will like you if you give them a chance and this coming from someone that isn't a people person at all. I think/assume you don't trust or believe when people say they like you due to your past experiences and it's hard for you to let that go.
I have my own troubles/worries due to dealing with people in the past so I try not to say much because you really don't know what it's like to be in the next person's shoes.
