I just saw a commercial where they show adult Simba singing Hakuna Matata and yeah...I see the complaints now about no emotion.

It really does appear like it’ll be a national geographic type film with dubbing over it. Haha. I still have optimism the film will be entertaining though.

Just came back from the movie. No spoilers but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. Felt really flat. Music didnt feel epic. Timon and Pumbaa made the movie. Scar was ehh. Beyonce felt out of place in this. Disney should have left this movie alone to remake.

Some of the best scenes were ruined. If you've never seen the original this could impress you.

I don’t know if that’s necessarily true; Disney is banking on people who grew up on The Lion King to appreciate the movie. That’s why they chose the lead actors they did (Beyonce, Donald Glover) because they have a hook on that 25-34 demographic. I personally could do without either one in those roles, but I’ll be checking it out anyway.

Beyonce isn’t a good actress period, let alone voice actress, and I personally don’t care for Donald Glover in anything. There’s at least a dozen other black actors and actresses they could’ve picked who would be much better in those roles. I’m hoping they prove me wrong.
