Kanye doesn't like MBDTF like that. When he was more sane, he put 808's and Yeezus over it, so I'm not surprised he's saying this.

I guarantee he hates his first three albums and doesn't listen to them at all.

No one loved MBDTF more than suburban "music journalists", lol. It's definitely his most overrated work.

But he loves The College Dropout and Late Registration though. He had that video with 88-Keys where he said until somebody can make albums like that, he's still one of the best ever.

MBDTF.

It felt more like a well crafted album with a true narrative, some of Ye's best rapping, great standout features, and some of the best production he's ever done.

TLOP had its highlights but it felt more like a Greatest Hits album or a playlist than a standard album. I know he tried to force a narrative on it with the whole "Pablo means Picasso/Escobar/Saint Paul" type of thing but the concept would've been lost of most people if he didn't try to force it.

Plus, the lows are much lower. Lowlights, Highlights, Facts, the interlude with French Montana, Freestyle 4, and I Love Kanye was straight up filler that was not needed for the album at all.

Tlop was an uninspired, unoriginal, unorganized, waste of time. It felt stale and recycled compared to everything else he put out previously. Even if he wasn’t on my dead to me list, I’d have no desire to return to it.
