Reminds me of when TNA was a "threat" and they didn't really acknowledge the promotion besides the Hardy "impact" line.

That's one thing about Vince that is a gift and a curse. Dude wouldn't acknowledge other promotions because it's WWE DAMMIT. Trips, basically sounding like a jealous ho with the constant smug commentary.

You have to understand so many things went their way in the leadup to 40, The Rock getting involved gave it added adrenaline.

They haven't had The Rock much or at all this time around so that's hurt them. Let's see if things change for next year but the supposed Rock vs Roman match might be the only thing they can use to get a big mania hype.

They've had too many issues as well lately not just product but the stuff regarding black males on PLEs and all the political stuff.

AEW has a deep enough roster and their secondary show is gaining momentum equal to their primary show so everything has been flowing smoothly. Can't get into a war now. Better to sit back and let WWE do their thing and focus on gaining fans that may be looking for other wrestling.
