What’s the biggest singles match that AEW is able to put on rn? Been thinking about it. There was a couple times it was clear:

Omega/Mox
Omega/Bryan
Bryan/Ospreay
Punk/Elite
Omega/Ospreay

Probably some i’m forgetting.

I think if we were fresh on Okada coming in it would be Omega/Okada but idk now.

I’m not sure how much drawing power Sasha still has but a part of me thinks that it really is Toni vs Mercedes :patrice:

What yall think it is?

For some reason I thought he was from Philly because he’s an Eagles fan. :skip:

Nonetheless, I think a short reign would be good for his character work. He loses it the following PPV in a one on one would also benefit his character.

All this off the top of my head. In sure if I looked over the roster I could some up with some others.

Toni-Mercedes and Mercedes-Athena would be the first two off the top of my head if we’re going with a fresh match. Don’t know if they ever ran those matches in WWE but Timeless Toni Storm and Athena are completely different beasts in AEW compared to WWE.

Some other fresh ones like Omega-Swerve, Cope/Christian vs. FTR or the Young Bucks. Has Hangman vs. Ospreay happened yet? Fletcher and Takeshyta have numerous first time matchups they could do.

If we’re going fresh to AEW but running back a previous matchup - Okada vs. Omega would be by far the biggest one. Their series of matches is some of the best wrestling to ever happen. Also Omega/Ibushi vs. Young Bucks if Ibushi could be a decent wrestler ever again.

There are the retread matchups that are always going to be huge that involve any combination of Hangman, Swerve, Omega, Ospreay, Danielson, MJF, Fletcher, Takeshyta

On the women’s side you also got Mina vs. Mercedes, Willow, Stat. Willow vs. Stat retread will always be big. Hayter vs. Britt but the ship has probably sailed on that.

Omega/Okada might not break Meltzer since it would take place in Texas instead of Tokyo, but that match happening on American soil is a big deal. Omega/Swerve would be another PPV headliner as well.

How reliable is the source? I ain't gonna hold u... I'm gonna say exactly what I said about Netflix RAW. These streaming platforms try to game the numbers any way they can and usually don't even release shyt and when they do release shyt it'll be some fine print like "each viewer watched at least 1 minute" or whatever..

That said, I figure they are obviously over a million with 'Dynamite' because the show does close to 700k on TBS alone.
