Throwing money at mediocre May is :mjlol:

Toni the one who carried her on that feud. We all saw May couldn’t get herself over/heat without Toni.:russell:

Mina tho. :ahh:

She got herself over in a short amount of time here than May did weekly. :skip:

Toni was the A side in the feud, but Mariah definitely played her part very well. Nobody carried shyt.

As for the bolded, I'd attribute that to atrocious booking more than anything else. Everything in between felt very directionless, Mariah was clearly just being used as placeholder and keeping the belt warm until Toni returned

Na, man, it’s not always about booking. At some point it’s up to the wrestler to get themselves over with the crowd. It’s up to the wrestler to work with what they get and make it work. That’s what separates good talent from the weak.

Max Castor’s singles run has been entertaining because he has some charisma and he’s been booked as a loser.

Harley Cameron was losing for months and got herself over. Why? Because she has charm and charisma.

May turned on the biggest babyfaces in the company and still didn’t get a reaction weekly as champ. She can do a snobby bytch, but even she couldn’t do it well enough to get the crowd to care. What the fukk is The Glamour anyway? :childplease:

AEW Women's division is getting really stacked and should be a main focus of every show.

Tier 1
Toni Storm
Mercedes Moné
Megan Bayne
Kris Statlander
Willow Nightingale
Mariah May
Mina Shirakawa (once she's officially signed)
Jamie Hayter (after she sorts her visa issues)
Athena (once she leaves ROH)

Tier 2 (at the moment)
Thunder Rosa
Serena Deeb
Julia Hart
Harley Cameron
Queen Aminata
Penelope Ford
Anna Jay
Deonna Purrazzo

I have no idea what Hikaru Shida is up to but she's tier 1 if available, 3 title reigns and longest cumulative time as champion behind Toni, they should run that match in the future between the two most historically dominant women in the division.

FWIW, I think May would fair better under NXT/WWE to help mold her personality on-screen. They have people backstage that can help more.

AEW seems like it’s mostly up to the talent to find out who they are, which is why the vets are shining when they jump because they’ve been in the game long and had time in the E.
