A good idea for a heel gimmick in AEW would be a guy who is really well liked as a high flyer but then make them not a high flyer. But you got to be blatant with it. So tease doing the high flying spots, don’t do the spots, then the wrestler needs to taunt the fans to show he’s doing it on purpose to fukk with them.
The in-ring Ricochet of yesteryear would be perfect for that but he hasn’t really been doing much high flying in AEW.
Other than Ospreay, I don’t think there is really anyone else who has shown the ability to pull it off from either the character work standpoint and/or the in-ring ability.
You really need someone who is well versed in mat wrestling to be able to do it because if you take someone who can’t do much on the ground then the matches are just going to be boring if you take away the one thing they do well.
