Fair enough, but I would assume that you're probably in the minority. The other thing is that there may not have been much, if any, financial motivation for AEW to promote it. It just doesn't seem like a big deal to me. AEW has much bigger problems than promoting a PPV with their talent in another promotion.

He’s not a casual viewer tho, so his argument is invalid. There are AEW casuals. My friend is one. He don’t know what the fukk “kaze ni nare” means or a Minoru Suzuki. :dead:

There’s a reason Big Tom Ishii didn’t get a pop when he returned to AEW weeks ago, and he’s been featured on AEW TV before. :skip:

I’m just using a NJ talent as an example to show the casual viewer doesn’t give a shyt about NJPW. Even Suzuki is hit or miss at times. Youre not a casual AEW or NJPW viewer.

I have a friend who is a big AEW fan, we go to every show out here, he orders every AEW PPV, but he didn’t order the WD show. You don’t know shyt about what you’re talking about when all you see is what the IWC sheep follow.

Maybe, But it did like 30,000s buy in America iirc

And Wrestle Dynasty was a co-promoted AEW show though. That would be like them not promoting forbidden door next year cause it’s not in America.
Just curious because I legit don't know, how much promotion did NJPW do for Forbidden Door? For all we know, the "co-promotion" could've been NJPW could use AEW talent on their show and that was it.

Even Ospreay had to prove his worth when he joined AEW. I remember when he was being used before he signed he wasn’t popping in certain states. Even the usual AEW haters were clowning him. It was the match with Omega at FD that made him shine with the casuals. Now look where we’re at. :skip:

Which Forbidden Door?

NJPW has always done a good job promoting their joint shows from Forbidden Door, To War of the Worlds/Global Wars with ROH, to that big MSG show they had a few years back (which was mainly NJPW)

I didn't even realize it was a co promoted show, I thought it was just an NJPW show with a couple AEW wrestlers on it. Are all the shows over there that Mox, Mercedes, etc been doing co promoted?

I meant the last one. AEW has a track record for these one sided co-promotions in their favor, so it's not that surprising I guess.

This isn’t true though. A lot of american fans got into NJPW for the first time back in 2014-2016 when they put it on american ppv for the first time and Jeff Jarrett/ROH/TNA helped promote it. It’s how I got into NJPW.
that AJ vs Shinsuke one before they came to WWE was my first intro to NJPW. That event def helped get a lot of eyes on the product from over here.

I used to have the network for a while but cancelled it some time back. I only watch the big ppv events anyways and that can be found online. Def agree that NJPW has been struggling lately. Shoot even back during Forbidden Door time the question of who they would send that would be worth it was being asked. Hopefully they can build up some of these younger stars.

not including the aew guys, I feel they had stars I typically enjoy from there like ZSJ and Naito, to make me like the events. of course i'm sure much better work can be put in but I'm so much of a casual that its not as big an impact on me compared to others. I'll likely watch the new years dash too just for the hell of it. of course i aint gonna watch that shyt tonight cuz they crazy with this 4:30 am start time. :comeon:
