Kind of true. As I've gotten older, I've become more of a bottom line person. At the end of the day if my net worth has grown, that's what makes me happy. 
i did not have money growing up, we were not poor just my dad and mom lived this life described in this thread with a passion....me, I was just recently (almost a year) introduced to somewhat large amounts of money (landing a good job in oil &gas industry) and not being accustomed to them, i spend almost 1/2 of my salary on restaurants, clubs, drinks, having fun....mostly because I've seen my dad saving all his life and dying at 56 not really enjoying his life, i said fukk it...i'm 26 and single but when i'm gonna be older and with a family i'm gonna start saving up...i'm not worried about it, because me i can always revert to a struggling life, it's not something i do not know about
