The feeling of solving puzzles using physics based powerups is crazy. When I hung that hook thing to the rail to slide down to the other island, that looked simple and cool but it wasn't really nothing compared to the thing I did before where you had to bring this other object to another island.

I had to attach two of those hooks to two pieces of logs and then stick the objectI wanted to transport onto it and then attach the diy ride to the rail and quickly jump on it. In BOTW it often felt like something that wasn't really meant to be done but here it's like a natural part of the gameplay mechanics.

That lake I stopped at I need to get across it but I lost the raft I built as it just moved with the wind immediately before I jumped on. Idk if I'm sol or I have to somehow make the sail spawn again which I don't see.

It starts off a little bit more narrative focused but then becomes BOTW like after the intro scene. Controls takes some time to get used to though because it interacts with the objects in the world physically. I spent damn near 30 minutes trying to build a rail thingy just to bring something to another island. You really can get creative I can see just so far this early in. I have barely seen anything yet.

Basic, non spoilery clip I recorded.

:ehh:

man are there dungeons or not? smfh

Nintendo allowed this culture to happen with their secretive ass previews and shyt. we dont even know one miniboss in this game.
the dungeons are epic. they combined classic zelda dungeons with the creativeness of botws divine beast puzzles. they streamed some last night. i didn't watch though, I just read the comments. one thing they kept commenting on is how the music kept changing and how its the best theyve ever heard in a zelda game.

Saying this game is really piff. I heard performance is rough.

Based off the impressions you've had, would you say this game hits the same way botw hit in 2017. I'm thinking review scores will be lower, but still high. Something like a 93.

See y'all on the 12th

I've only played for about an hour and that hour was just me messing around with the physics. I don't see how this game scores lower, it seems like it will be better than BOTW in every single way. It's like a true sequel in the most direct sense.

Once again sharing my TV settings for those of you who wanna play docked. If you don't have the same brand as mine, that's fine. Just use the TV picture mode on your TV that's called "Game Mode" or something similar, then increase the contrast.

---

I have a setting on my TV that I've already optimized for Tears of the Kingdom on my Sony Bravia. I did it for Breath of the Wild. Basically, I turn up Reality Creation and Live Color.

I learned to do this after researching the mClassic ($100) and the 4K Gamer Pro ($199). I learned that my TV could can pretty much do the same thing if I played around with the options. I copied the Settings of "Game" picture mode over to "Custom". I did this because I also have a XSX and PS5 and didn't want my Switch settings to interfere (I play 120 fps/VRR COD/Halo. Switch doesn't need that). I use default Game mode for those systems with no adjustments. But for Switch, I only changed two settings for my copied Game mode in Custom. That is 1: Reality Creation Mode, which is usually manually turned down to 10 in Game Mode, I turned it up. This fixed the jaggies. And 2: To fixed the washed-out look, I played around with Live Color: High looks more like the OLED version of switch handheld. However I chose Medium since it's not as vibrant.

My son preordered this on Amazon, but on the 12th I'm going to Wal-Mart in the morning. I told him that from jump. This is his own purchase with his own money. We have 2 switches.

Should I let him have his own copy?
Or should I just cancel his and share mine?

I would cancel mine but...case me and my lady ever part ways  .......
