Looking back at this show I really did enjoy it but that damn love triangle shyt irritated the fukk out of me. Also, I feel like Korra stayed getting them thumpers put on her. It felt like she always lost battles. I don't know.

I try to enjoy the series for what it is. I wish they were able to commit to a single main plot line like they did with ATLA, but I still really enjoyed this series and I wouldn't be opposed to more.

Amon was scary as f—k.

When he put that fear of god into Korra in their first encounter. :wow:

On a related note: Did anyone else associate the Water Tribe with black people growing up?

- The Fire Nation taking, imprisoning, and (realistically) raping and killing the southern tribes waterbenders which felt akin to real-world colonial slavery.
- The North's general:mjpls: attitude towards the South in ATLA & LOK Season 2.
- Iroh's description of the people: "the people of the Water Tribe are capable of adapting to many things, they have a deep sense of community and love that holds them together through anything." - Sounds like black people in a nutshell :ehh:
- Amon essentially being Pre-Mecca Malcolm X. Saying that non-bender brothers and sisters, I'm here to tell you that I'm charging the Bender Man. :wow:

Am I the only person who didn't associate the water tribe with black people?

:why:

I thought it was pretty obvious from the get go that they were based on eskimos/inuit

Yet I'm constantly seeing people suggest otherwise

I always saw Water Tribe as inuits. Earth Kingdom as Indian. Fire Nation was Imperial Japan and Air Nation were Tibetan monks.

Don't see how African Americans would fit on a world based upon asian culture.

In hindsight it would’ve been dope if red lotus were the main antagonists, and were always a powerful force lurking behind the scenes, even if smaller villains came and went.

And just after that Zaheer the gawd released his earthly tethers and started flying :wow:

This one thing that pissed me off about Korra is the fact that she didn't learn how to fly. I was expecting it to happen after she decided to meet with Zaheer in S4 but nope
