@stux ive always wondered if the team working on Word isn’t invited to the meetings with the rest of the gang, excel-team, PowerPoint team etc.

The trick in Word is to put the image behind all text (and other) layers.

@stux Through accident of birth (my family had a publishing business) I learned QuarkXPress and never learned Word, specifically because in Quark, you decide, explicitly, what goes where, and things like Text blocks flow themselves around your choices in the way that you tell them to.Nowadays Scribus does more or less the same thing for Free, if you want to arrange a page to your liking. I and everyone else, so far as I know, sends PDFs for job applications. So Word is strictly for corporate serfs and their masters, really...

@jpaskaruk @stux It's always amazed me that people use a word processor as a desktop publisher. I'd never use Word, but I use LibreOffice just for writing, nothing else.If I had a penny for every client who said they'd done all the layout in Word and I just had to send it to the print shop...Countless years in InDesign and Quark have led me to Scribus too!

@jpaskaruk @stux Yes, that was always my reaction. I'd copy/paste out all the embedded artwork and pics, re-sample them to the correct sizes, copy/paste the text to ID then do the layout from scratch.I'd never tell them though, not worth the effort.
