Even though it’s been a gradual process, it feels more sudden at the same time. Like part of what made the Pipebomb such a success was the taboo things Punk said in it, like namedropping ROH and NJPW, since WWE barely ever acknowledged anything they didn’t own. Now guys success in other promotions is the whole reason they got signed, with their stats from other promotions being listed. If you didn’t know anything about AJ Styles when he debuted, you’d atleast know he led a club in Japan and was an IWGP champion because they mentioned it constantly. It’s weird to see/hear, especially now that TNA is starting to become canon too.
