I'm playing on hard, its the most intense game I have ever played and I love the slow burn. Very Wire like, this game has the craziest murders I have seen. Especially when you kill someone or their dog and they get hella heated trying to get everyone to find you. That first major death scene had me like :damn:

...i feel like an idiot for engaging with you this long honestly, you get no more replies from me

in my case I’m just taking a shyt...so I’m just talking shyt to him for now (no pun intended) but ya dude is either trolling or highly irrational...since he hasn’t played the game...he’s now stuck w/ nothing new to say really :yeshrug:

ppl who have played the game and didn’t like it or some parts of it were @ least able to offer unique criticisms

Ok he purposefully made a female character that wasn't sexualized to counter most female protagonists in gaming. The story could have all the same beats if she was a man.

Now if he made her buff for that reason it was because of his beliefs, which came from an inspiration from feminism. So you are right in that regard, however it doesn't really impact the plot or characters. Just her visual appearance. Are you saying that if he had just made a skinny girl with big t*ts it wouldn't have been for feminism? Like does any of this shyt really matter in regards to our enjoyment of the game?

So he made a buff bytch cause most games have big tittied bytches, alright so he's soft. Does this make the game not fun? Does this make the story bad? Like I said make Abby a Joey and it doesn't really change the overarching story much.

I don't want to sound like a dikkhead cause I respect your opinion. I genuinely want to know why this is such a big deal to some people.

All I'm saying here is if he made a buff bytch cause he think's women are objectified in other games, ok. You can disagree with him and think he's a bleeding heart lame sure. But hate the game? We can play as aliens, men, women, animals, robots.... you name it as characters. But if you make a bytch manly on purpose it's not fun anymore?

Also even if it's political since when did this whole "leave politics out of my media" shyt even come from. All art as always been a form of expression, you don't have to agree to enjoy it. At the same time, if you didn't know this backstory about Neil, and just bought this game and played it blind, I don't think you would walk away thinking it had anything to do with feminism. They don't hit you on the head with opinions about it virtually at all. It's mostly about people doing wrong to each other for what they perceive as good reason. The genders are virtually interchangeable in regards to how it plays out.
You ain't sounding like a dikkhead breh, I respect you off the fact you haven't defaulted to incel labeling somebody for an opinion of this game that defers with yours...That is very rare on this forum and I salute you for that...

As for the bold, that would have been just as bad with the same character development Abby had...None of my complaints in this thread have been about the appearance of Abby, I can give a fukkless she walks around like Arnold in Commando...For the majority of my gaming life I have hated playing games as white guys, if protagonist appearance mattered that much to my enjoyment of a game, I wouldn't be posting in this subforum because gaming wouldn't be something I enjoy...My complaints in this thread have been entirely about story and character development which fell short of the high standard TLOU set IMO due to external interference...That opinion is backed by Neil Druckmann's own words in 2013 where he stressed focus on political appearance in video games...

I said this before and I will say it again, I would have been perfectly fine with playing an entire game as Ellie (a feminine gay white woman) and I am confident in saying so would have the majority of the fanbase...That's because Ellie is a well developed character with a place in this story...I asked this before and I'll ask it again, why wasn't Ellie enough for Neil and Anita? I think that's a fair question for any fan of Ellie and this franchise to ask....

Sorry, fakkit tolerance quota has been reached for 2020

On a serious note, one of the most pretentious and overhyped fakkit propaganda pieces in modern history.

so, i initially felt like this, and i still do, actually.

obviously the agenda pushing with Joel being done how he got did (by a supposed tranny?), and them making Ellie the new MC (actually this was in their plans from the beginning, it's obvious if you beat the first and the DLC) then pushing the lesbian ish and Dina being jewish and them pushing the whole zionist victim agenda....there was also an interesting part in the beginning with a black kid and Ellie saying "she hated that kid" (why did it have to be a young black boy in particular? none of that type of shyt is a coincidence, especially in video games where attention to detail in design is paramount)...so there's all the white supremacist liberal propaganda in it, which you can easily catch and sidestep if your third eye is open.

however, in terms of pure game-play, moving games forward as an art, and the technology and storytelling capabilities, this is a landmark achievement.

we live in a system of white supremacy so there's no avoiding the propaganda, and it is going to get worse and worse with time.

but from a purely objective standpoint, the story is great and it's really cathartic to control Ellie as she gets her revenge. it feels like i'm getting revenge myself.

that is what's keeping me playing: to get revenge for what happened to Joel, and to see how it all ends. they've objectively done a great job.

Even though it’s not confirmed, isn’t it basically implied that Abby was transgender? I thought that’s why she had such a connection to Lev (who was also Trans)?

The way they have told this story, it works mainly if you have a second character to play as, I don’t think it’s a case of them thinking Ellie isn’t good enough for a whole game (my bad if I misinterpreted what you meant)

I think Ellie was enough. I think they just wanted to tell a revenge story from two points of view. Abby doesn't seem like she's there cause Ellie is too weak. She seems like she's there to give a face to the bad guys.

It doesn't feel like Neil started with Ellie is too weak lets make another female, now how can we tell a story about another female.

It feels more like they started with, lets tell a tale of revenge and show how the bad guys are the same as us, how can we do that.

Obviously I don't know that for a fact but the latter is the clear focus of the game so it makes sense to me.

When you play as Abby it feels like it's more about exposing your own motivations while humanizing the enemy than it has anything to do with playing with an even stronger female character. The story would've felt virtually the same and hit all the same main plot threads if Abby was a grown man.

It would've removed from the duality motif a little is all.

Damn if only Ellie just stayed at the farm with Dina and JJ :francis:. Abby was going to die anyways.

Even then she could’ve still just killed Abby with a gun, instead of trying to fight her with a serious wound. Now she lost Dina, the baby, and her 2 fingers to where she can’t even play guitar anymore. :francis:

So tragic.

I think it's obvious, Ellie doesn't want to kill Abby and vice versa

Their stories basically mirror each other

I see people complaining on youtube about lev "how do you have a sex change in the post world so dumb" The kid didn't have a sex change, she shaved her head and pretended to be a boy. Not saying you said anything like that it just reminded me I wanted to comment on it.

Idk how it's implied Abby is a trans. Cause she went from skinny teenager to jacked tom boy? The guy she was dating as a teen still fukked her later on though.
