the way this person is playing tho I get the sense they’ve replayed parts multiple times and know the layout if the room and the movement of the enemies etc.

Yup. There were a couple of times I tried to go all out and after a couple of kills just got swarmed on all directions and ended up using way too many resources so I just let myself be killed and start over Still fun as hell just wrecking havoc like that.

Now I now what the 2nd playthrough is gonna be all about though

I think the gameplay is an improvement on the first one. The sound design is thorough, all the mechanics feel really good, the stages are more complex and allow for plenty of variety in approach.

The story though.... (don't read if you haven't linked up with Owen in the aquarium as Abby the 3rd time)

I haven't finished yet but I reached that part of the story which probably turned everyone off and I can see why. I already had misgivings about where the story was going because it felt like too much of a sequel and not a standalone tale that does something fresh. Kinda like how Stranger Things now is just a cheap continuation of the same story threads. But then I reached the Abby / Owen sex scene and this just became horny fanfic WWE level shyt. Pregnancy stories, love triangles, randomly thrown in sex scenes, just overall too much of a reliance on connecting to the past.

I would have preferred it had they just given us a new adventured unrelated to Joel with Ellie, Dina, and Jesse. Or maybe just have the entire focus be on Scars vs. Wolves which is the most interesting part of the story, IMO

I like how the notes pay off if you bother to read them. A lot of games have notes tapes etc that are just exposition dumps but some of these legit add to the world building and give context to some of the things you come across.

and they aren’t long as fukk either.

Mannnnnnnn...I was walking around their looking for any hint of a Tommy. Found nothing...Jesse even got a mention and for a second I was annoyed. Then I see someone pulled up on a horse and was like iight hopefully it’s Tommy.

I went from being so happy seeing Tommy made it to being at what a shell of himself he became. Ellie had been threw enough at that point smh.

still got love for Tommy though. When I encountered him as Abby I was like a proud dad looking at the work he was pushing in. Pushed Manny’s wig back like John Wick.

I couldn’t tell completely but I’m guessing the bullet went through his eye? That along with that fukked up limp, bitter & miserable, him and Maria broke up, NOBODY is getting off light in this game

Dogs made the game play faster and put more urgency on you. I use to be able to chill out and strategize, now I gotta stick and move.

This game is a landmark of facial animation, and general animation. It is really the closest to real people I’ve ever seen. Almost Up with RDR2 maxed out.
