:ohhh:

Translation: We're still not finished after all this time and we're not going to release it until shipping goes back to normal after Coronavirus so we can make the most money off of it.

The latter making complete sense businesswise but I'm surprised they still weren't done so close to "release."

Motherfukkers why can’t they just release it on digital? I guess we can expect everything else to be delayed as well.

On Part II:
  • When the studio moved to working from home employees were told to take care of themselves and be with their family. Employees came first, release date 2nd with employees being allowed to take off a day or two if needed, even if the whole situation meant the May 29th date couldn't be made.
  • When asked why they don't just release the digital version on May 29th: "there hasn't been a final decision yet". Mentions how some places might not have proper infrastructure in place for a digital only release, doesn't want those places left out. Right now looking at different options to get the game to everyone as soon as possible, but doing so will take time and it will obviously depend on how the coronavirus situation develops.
  • When asked about a playable demo in the PlayStation Store he mentions how a public demo like that isn't comparable to the controlled environment which comes with a behind closed doors press demo or something at another event. Also mentions how making a demo fit for public release takes a lot of work, with the demo the press played months ago obviously being outdated, game has been improved greatly since.
  • Development is at the 1-yard line, nothing left but final bugs and polishing.

Troy Baker Wants Fans to Approach The Last of Us II With an Open Mind, Says Players Will ‘Question Everything’ | PlayStation LifeStyle

Joel voice actor Troy Baker has hinted that The Last of Us Part II‘s story may be divisive and has asked fans to approach the game with an open mind.

Speaking to Fandom, Baker said that the game is designed to make players “question everything” and those who go in close-minded will have a very different experience.

If we have done our job right, people will question everything. I want [players] to be able to challenge their own ideas about what this game is, what this world is, who the characters are – everything. I want people to go in open-minded to this story, and allow Joel and Ellie to tell their story – not the story that people think that they want to be told. If people go in open-minded to this thing, I think they will have a completely different experience than if they go in close-minded.

Baker went on to say that while he doesn’t know if players will love or hate the story, they “definitely will not be ambivalent about it.”

Elsewhere, Baker revealed that the sequel’s announcement took him by surprise. He was sitting in a bar with director Neil Druckmann in 2015 when the developer revealed where he wanted Joel and Ellie to go next. He later went over to Druckmann’s house and began taking notes.

“By the end of it, I was silent – like I was sat at the feet of the greatest storyteller,” Troy recalled. “It was an amazing story.”

I think Ellie is going to be unlikeable or some shyt like that.. She's going to kill Joel or something

I wasn't getting this until it dropped for the PS5 anyway. The pushbacks don't surprise me-- corona or no corona. :yeshrug:

This story is looking real trash:francis:
There was a longer gameplay video with Thai subtitles..
That alluded to something I theorized awhile ago:francis:
And this quote..
Definitely has me believing..
I still take it with a grain of salt:yeshrug:
