Imo the whole premise of 2 is stupid and bit un realistic
....
One character goes on a ridiculous mission to do something that in reality given what they supposed to have happened to them it just makes no sense to behave the way they did ....
And the other character equally does shyt that make no sense only to realize some shyt that any person would say to her but no one does

Marlene is entirely to blame, she took the choice away from Ellie forcing Joel to do what he did...If Ellie was allowed to choose her fate telling Joel she wanted to martyr herself for the vaccine, he'd try to talk her out of it but he ain't murdering everybody to stop it...There would be no point in that, he knows she'd never forgive him...The way Marlene played it, she just told dude we're not giving Ellie the choice, we're murdering her and you can't do anything to stop it...He naturally responded the way any father would...
again another reason why the second game is so stupid
Also, Ellie is 14. We're putting life or death decisions on a 14 year old?

It's still kind of weird since Marlene knew Ellie from birth and was in a sense her mother. Joel knew Ellie for only a few months. It's just weird to me how Marlene could be that headstrong on sacrificing Ellie like that after raising her.

She could do that because she didn’t bond with Ellie. She wasn’t her mother in any form. She shipped her off to be with fedra. If she didn’t cross paths with Riley she would still be with Fedra.
