The majority of the audience who are watching the show are uninformed of the games characters and plotlines


The show is for the casual viewer. It doesn't mean fans of the game can't watch but they are not the primary audience of the show. That would be like saying Marvel movies are primarily for Marvel comic fans .

There was zero reason to hide the gay storyline in the pre-episode promo.

But we know they hid it and didn't lead with it because it would have turned off viewers from even watching the episode in the first place.

But then y'all want to tell me this wasn't an agenda ambush

you crazy if you think they didnt hide the twist because of the hardcore who are aware. But again the twist isnt him being gay. comparing marvel to this doesn't work. tlou just came out and sold millions of copies in recent memory. the fan base are older people 20+.. its only two games and easier to digest. marvel movies are based on comics that are usually series of books and years old. they change everything but names and events in marvel movies to suit causal fans and children. They changed next to nothing in this yet besides little things because of the hardcore fans. they want causals to watch it but its not aimed at or caters to them at all. Bill was a fan favorite who didn't get a conclusion in the story so they expanded on it for the fans and it worked out for both sides.

And we didn’t get to see that intense scene where Joel falls into one of his traps and is dangling upside down while Clickers are rushing towards him. That would’ve been cool

Good love story despite it being two men. It played out just like any other couple would realistically. For you to watch all of that and hone in on the gay part means you're hyper-focused on gay shyt, for whatever reason.

I finally watched the episode yesterday night and to be honest, it was not that bad. Other than the sex scene which was short, it was a typical love story in difficult times. Yeah, it is a gay couple, but I did not care. 2 men kissing does not scare me anymore Try to see Season 2 of American Gods when they showed you gay men having sex for like 10 mins.
