Hollywood fell off. No original ideas. I miss these type of straight up action films. shyt, this is a great action film but it doubles as a great comedy. It's hilarious. I laugh more watching this movie then 99% of the comedies they come out with these days

I mean, where are screenwriters like that these days?
Just like the rock bands and hip hop we loved once everything went digital and the studios put limits on what you could say/shoot versus what made more money for them, it was all over.. Joe Hallenbeck would really hate this world if you tried to bring him back in this age..Especially not being able to smoke a cig in a bar lol

Man this movie was so on point with the NFL and told what was gonna happen 25+ years ago. I mean cats aren't blowing their heads off on the field like Billy Cole but they are shooting themselves in the chest (Junior Seau) and committing suicide at home.
One of the things I love about Shane Black movies, is he likes to poke America in the eye and point out the hypocrisies. Lethal Weapon, Kiss, Kiss, Bang Bang, this movie, the nice guys, even iron man 3. they all look at a facet of American life and demystify it and tell the truth about the country

Yo man I straight up miss the comedy in action movies like this. It seems like the only time you get it is in the marvel movies. Halle was bad but they obviously used a body double for her when she was dancing on stage but you right 90s Halle with the OG nose was the best thing on film. I worshiped that woman back then.
