Fox is an idiot if it’s the spurs. They’re still ways away from competing.
Look at it the other way though:

they can make the play-in in Wemby's 2nd year which is huge for everyone. That's the goal (and in Fox's case, he's been fighting for the play-in anyway but at least there's an ascent to the Spurs).

The only downside is that the Spurs have Wemby and Sochan and that's it for bigs.

For Sacramento, if they wanna get a headstart on retooling around Sabonis, Murray and Carter, get SA's first and Atlanta's first in this year's draft and at least they can figure out early where they stand long term.

WITH WHAT ASSETS?

TERRY ROZIER AND DUNCAN ROBINSON?

We have 2 tradeable unprotected firsts and obviously could unlock more assets with whatever we get for jimmy in a trade with golden state/pheonix

Potentially 4 FRPs plus expirings and a young player like Jaquez.

Not to mention, what’s the market for Fox? Who really needs or wants him? Like 3 or 4 teams max?

That deal makes more sense for sacremento than it does for the spurs. Give up all your assets for a boarder line all star who’s 27 to pair with your 21 year old. Play in team, first round exit. It’s all smoke
