3 of em should be holdin dat trophy. :mjcry:

"From me there's going to be a lot more rage, a lot more emotion," Cavs guardKyrie Irving said at the team's media day Monday. "There won't be too much smiling or anything like that from our team. That's the mentality we have to have. We're looking forward to the challenge."
James shared how the Miami Heat's championship defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks in 2011 put his team in the proper mindset to take it all in 2012.

"One thing that we did that didn't even need to be talked about after we lost our first year in Miami when we came back, we was angry," James said. "We was very, very, very angry. And everybody that we went against knew it when we came back."

James said that Heat team showed its mettle from opening night, heading on the road to Dallas and leading by 32 points after three quarters while spoiling the Mavs' ring ceremony.

"That whole year, it was like, there was no wait process," James said. "We was like 'OK, we messed around, lost one, but, right now, let's not think about it, go out and we want to play to the highest of our ability every single night.'"

I hope we see 2012 Bron again

GM David Griffin expects Tristan Thompson to be in camp Friday

INDEPENDENCE: Cavs general manager David Griffin said he expects Tristan Thompson to be on the practice floor Friday, although he declined to speculate under what type of contract.

Thompson is facing an 11:59 p.m. deadline Thursday night to accept the Cavs’ qualifying offer worth about $7 million or reject it and continue negotiations, at which point he would be considered a holdout. The team had the right to extend the Oct. 1 deadline for Thompson to sign the qualifying offer, but declined to do so.

“We fully expect (Friday) he’ll be here in some form or fashion and we’re excited to get going,” Griffin told NBA TV during a live broadcast of Thursday’s Cavs practice. “We’re hopeful that he wants to move forward with his teammates in the same way we want to have Tristan here. If we can come to some agreement we will.”

The two sides remain apart on a long-term deal. If Thompson accepts the qualifying offer, he will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Contracts are fairly rigid under the collective bargaining agreement, making holdouts rare in the NBA – although they do happen. Anderson Varejao’s bitter contract dispute spilled into December in 2007 before he finally signed a three-year, $17 million offer sheet with the Charlotte Bobcats that was quickly matched by the Cavs.

“It wasn’t easy for me. I missed the first 21 games if I remember,” Varejao said Thursday. “But I had to do it back then because I felt like I was disrespected with the offer they offered me. I don’t really know what’s going on with Tristan right now, numbers and stuff, I’m not sure. But I’m pretty confident he will be here soon.”

LeBron James twice in recent days also said he was optimistic the two sides would reach agreement on a long-term deal sooner than later.

If Thompson refuses to sign the qualifying offer and negotiations continue, he is still free to seek a deal with another team. The Cavs still have the right to match it. Presently only two teams have the cap space to offer Thompson the type of deal he is seeking – the Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers.

“I’ll be interested to see what happens at 11:59 tonight,” coach David Blatt said. “We’ll go from there.”
