Tough series to predict because these teams have never played before.
This Lakers squad is different since their makeover in February. Although they ended up as a play-in team they’ve been playing like a top seed since the trade deadline.
Last time the Nuggets and Lakers faced off was January 9th. Nuggets won in Denver with neither Bron nor AD suiting up. Home team won every game with season series being split 2-2.
First couple of games are going to be critical. Denver hasn’t lost a home game this postseason. Meanwhile, Lakers stole the first game in their first two series against the Grizz and Dubs. If the Lakers can win one of the first two how do the Nuggets respond to losing home court advantage?
Also the Lakers have also not lost at home but the Nuggets have won a road game in each of their series against Minny and the Suns. How the Lakers deal if they can’t win the first one at high altitude?
I expect everyone to be ready out the gate and for this to be a good competitive series. I think game 1 is a must-win for the Nuggets as a tone-setter. After a few days of rest the Lakers will be ready to deliver a great punch so if the Nuggets can pull game 1 out they’ll be in a much better position with just about every game being every other day from there. Between altitude and travel the wear and tear might start to show. It’s not to say that the Nuggets can’t drop the first game and still win the series but I think it gets much harder if they do.
Will the Lakers steal game 1? Will the home-winning streaks continue? Will everyone stay healthy? Which bench/role players have the greatest impact? Will LA miss Dwight and Javale (and KCP and Nuggets-killer Westbrook)? Will AG be able to slow Bron? Is Bron ever gon fall off? Will Jack Nicholson dare hold on to any ball that comes to the sideline? Who will have a greater impact—AD or Jokic? Holy cannoli will Bron be on the strive for five? Can Murray help the Nuggets punch their ticket to their first Finals? Do the Lakers keep their foot on the Nuggets’ neck or do the Nuggets finally break through? Find out next time on Dragonball Z!
That’s why I think game 1 is critical for the Nuggets. Things get easier for the Lakers if they can grab the first one.I expect a split going to LA, the big key is Denver winning a game in LA. If they do that, I like their chances to win in 7 games. If it follows the same scenario as the Grizzlies and Warriors series, Lakers in 6.
Change the title.
Call It A Spade, Does The Joker Beat A King?
Obviously
Hopefully everybody on Lakers show up so they can gentleman sweep these nikkas.
I honestly think the lakers win in a gentleman’s sweep. Denver gets game 2 then Cancun.
You can switch it up bruh....just like you did for trump.... ....Damn you Steph. Now I gotta root for Lebron cause I do NOT want Jokic to get a ring.
