The rest of football caught up to Charles. Nobody went faster better than those Oregon teams and the way he got speed in space was unreal, but defenses started adjusting and everybody else started running a form of the HUNH and took all his juice :dame:
He hasnt evolved and I dont think he gives af anymore.
well said
and its pretty crazy to see the fall from grace ...
i mean. the team he inherited in Philly was phenomenal , perfect for his system and he fukked it alllll up

I was gonna say. I always felt like the fact he chose UCLA was a sign this foo' really ain't care no more like that and just wanted to go somewhere with low expectations. Although the Philly situation went bad, he still had some Oregon shine on him where most people were "well maybe he just needs to get back to college" (ala Saban) to where he could have gotten something a tier above UCLA, but he just said fukk it. Sunny weather. Coke n hoes. Chip good.
Nah he was supposed to hit the ground running at UCLA. It wasn't always easy to get top recruits up to Oregon cause most of those players are from Cali. UCLA is a top tier job believe it or not and Chip was supposed to immediately feast off the top recruits in Southern California. Alot of doors and opportunity open up for you when you win in LA so he didn't come out here to bullshyt and collect a paycheck. But so far yeah its been a big failure.

Actually OU started that go super-duper fast, look to the sidelines presnap offense under OC Kevin Wilson back in the mid 00s.

Then Oregon copied along with everyone else.

We don't really even do it anymore under Riley.
Truth

But Chips was different, Oklahoma threw WHOLE LOT under Ryan Day.

Chips Oregon squads were based off the inside zone read and the Outside zone read.
They didn’t throw nearly as much as those big 12 squads that went fast.

This UCLA team looks nothing like his Oregon squads though.

Dude is just trash now, and content with collecting millions.:snoop:

Looks like Chip has mailed it in. And he’s already a notoriously lazy recruiter so there’s not much help coming on that front.

I'm more of a big 12 guy, but just on the outside looking in, it doesn't make any sense why UCLA/USC aren't running the Pac 12 in both sports consistently.

Its been coaching at USC. Their still getting the recruits but the players aren't improving under Helton. There's always rumors about Urban Meyer but I keep hearing the school is paying money for lawsuits and the stadium renovation that's why Helton is still the coach. Also the AD Lynn Swann just quit. Its been a mess over there for a few years now but on the bright side they might have a QB in this Slovis kid. We'll see.

Everything was headed up for UCLA with this Chip Kelley hire. The local media was excited and I personally thought it was a good move for them but it just hasn't been the case so far. No excuses really

Swann didn't quit, it was either resign or get canned. Him and Helton were allowed to fly under the radar with all the scandals. But the new president is in, the jig is up for those clowns
