The jacka's tapes i named were definitely official tho. The trial series seemed like one of his mainline solo series, and that was trash as well.

His best work seems to be the collaboration tapes he did with other veterans, besides his few classic solo records. He was just putting out too much stuff, and it was quantity over quality.

The only unofficial ones that come out was like 2 records that showed up after his passing on itunes briefly before being take down.

The Trial series was a few new tracks mixed with recycled tracks, features, remixes, etc

Jack of all Trades, We Mafia, Broad Daylight, were unofficial albums that dropped while he was alive.

His official album solo albums that he put out are....

The Jacka
The Jack Artist
The Street Album
Tear Gas

your stars are but dust on my shoes
I was remembering the Jack the other day, ain't been the same since he passed.

Legitimately good dude whose music should be more widely recognized and appreciated. RobLo on The Jack Artist was ridiculous, and the Jack's introspective street raps truly have no equal.

There's a dude I heard out Detroit called Babyface Ray that has a very similar voice, couldn't believe it wasn't the jack when I first heard him.

Made me miss the Jack. Every now and then KMEL will throw up some of his tracks on air, gets me every time. RIP Jacka.:mjcry:

He promoted the Trial series heavy tho. Even came out with a compendium package later on that had all of the four.

I agree. Most of his solo shyt that he put out himself, not that siccness trilogy shyt, has at least 4 or five songs that you can feel. It's hard to get that nowadays. Now them albums he done wit them bum ass nikkas is a different story. He also has a good ear for beats n talent when he's focused. Rip King Jack

Shocked at the disdain for the Mob Trial sequence in this thread. All three of those tapes are classic material, nothing to be talked down on in my opinion. Especially MT1 (w Dre Dog), which is one of favorite albums period, with classic after classic track. Would be interested to hear those who weren't feeling those tapes explain why.

But in general this thread got me in my feelings a little bit. When Jacka died I felt it pretty bad. His music was so thoughtful and so personal that it seemed like someone you really know got killed when he went. Its good to see that others were touched by his shyt too.

To be honest I didn't think this thread would get these kind of replies. :mjcry:

I think they're talking about The Indictment, The Verdict, etc. the Mob Trial series is classic for sure, especially MT1 like you said

Ooooh shyt that makes a LOT more sense. The Indictment etc. series had a few gems here and there but yeah, basically bunk ass shyt.

The Mob Trial series on the other hand... Very under-appreciated. I see those three albums as basically like a top quality Mob Figaz album taken all together.
