You can't understand the stories of Jesus in Matthew Mark Luke and John without understanding the Old Testament (and also learning the culture during that era) because that is what he was teaching and basing his morality around. I would think Jesus would be upset that people were praising him instead of YHWH and even saying he was YHWH. But that's just speculation because we don't have any firsthand accounts of Jesus.

I'm not judging Christians but I do feel there is no need for Abrahamic religions in the modern day. They were constructed well over 1500 years ago in the middle east to help those people understand there place in the world and unify against opposing forces.

Jesus spoke to Jews and was a Jew. He spoke the scriptures (Hebrew Bible) and everyone believed in the scriptures (even Paul and early Christians) until centuries later when (I'm assuming) when it spread into Europe.

I read the old and new testament. Never read the Torah. I read the first half of the Quran and then stopped because it wasn't enjoyable to read

I believe Jesus existed but not the miracles and divinity.
