The irony of all this is that Triple Haitch is actually a B+ player

When you factor in drawing power/mainstream appeal & popularity/wrestling ability. This is the definitive list:

A+
Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock
(honorary A+ inductee: Brock Lesnar... cause who's gonna tell him he's not, bytch nikka?)

A
Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Bruno Sammartino, Andre The Giant

A-
John Cena, Goldberg, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, King Kurtis Angle, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Sting

B+
Triple H, Edge, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat

meh

the undertaker, john cena, bret hart & shawn michaels are realistically B+ players as well.

Drawing power. He made the difference for WCW to finally beat Vince

WCW was already beating vince's ass long before Goldberg.

but I agree with you about Goldberg's drawing power and him being an A- player.

Taker's different. With his characters, he never had to be THE man, never needed to, nor should have been, based on other top guys. Meanwhile, HHH pretended to be the man when he really never was. Come 2025, people born after 95 will have been tricked into thinking that just cause he held the title so many times from 2002-2007 and beat so many people that he's on the level of Hogan, Rock, and Austin, when he's not. He needs to focus on continuing to build NXT, cause that will be his real legacy.

Triple H became the ring leader of one of the largest factions in wrestling: DX. It was originally Shawn's. But eventually Shawn went heel and joined the corporation. HHH took it to new heights afterwards and they were drawing in big, big money. HHH should be higher.

the addition of xpac & the outlaws is what took DX to new heights. not triple h. he was the least over in the entire faction.

and I'm not saying that in defense of HBK. neither HHH or HBK are A players. theyre both B+ at best.

Huh? Bret and Shawn clearly carried the company from 1994-1997. Numbers were down then, and they would have been lower if not for Bret, Shawn, and possibly Razor.

bret & shawn didn't carry anything.

they simply don't have that level of star-power in them.

What publicity? Any major wrestler that dies young is gonna make headlines if HHH keeled over he'd get the same prolly more media coverage, but you talkin like Savage was all over cable news like Benoit or somethin.

major wrestlers die like every month b.

and macho man didn't die young.

he made those headlines because he was a household name.

triple h isn't.

Did this dude really say 1-2-3 Kid was the only one (or the most) over on their own in the kliq as a gimmick? :pachaha::pachaha::pachaha:

He had some buzz and everything..but please man. Razor was over as fukk and 1-2-3 Kid got over mainly due to his win over Razor. GTFOH

I think hes saying that 1-2-3 kid was the only one who was over on his own before joining the WWF and the kliq.

sean waltman is an American cruiserweight pioneer breh. his run as the lightning kid in the GWF was legendary.

They were the main event heels, but the company was built around Sting at that time

You are not making any sense. Companies aren't booked around heels. The top star is always a babyface. Sting was the top babyface in 91-93 period when Flair was gone. He headlined almost all the live events and whatever storyline he was involved in (Vader/Rick Rude/Dangerous Alliance/Jake Roberts/Cactus Jack) was pushed as the top storyline on the show regardless of whether he had the title or not.

Holding the belt doesn't make you the top guy. Phil Brooks had the WWE title for 434 days.. he was never the bigger star than Cena on any show.

Rick fukking Rude?? Ron Simmons? Seriously?? All respect to them, but no.

NWA/WCW was always heel-based as opposed to the WWF. another reason why the WWF was better at attracting younger audiences.

sting was obviously their most popular guy, even when flair was there but they didn't book him as THEE top star most of the time.

shoot, I remember the GWF at the time, booking the patriot in a stronger light.

and sure holding the belt doesn't make you the top guy, but guys like john cena have had the belt so many times and had all of the WWE's eggs in his basket for so long, that of course hes gonna be seen as the top guy at that point, with or without the belt. bad comparison. meanwhile, sting wasn't even in world title picture thru half of that time period that youre referring to.

The Rock and Vince were..not Cripple H. He got pushed hard after Summerslam 99 to no reaction for months..it took two Foley defeats and he still had average reactions before WM 2000.

It's obvious Rock isn't around...look at the empty arenas with Cena, Owens, Orton, Roman on top. Lol.
or an entire era is over :what: he shows up it's for a pay cheque so you figure he's doing it cause he loves the business:mjlol: triple H actually does

even if what youre saying is true, what does that matter?

are we supposed to give triple h brownie points for sticking around? or for marrying his way into ownership? that doesn't increase his value.

and what is the rock supposed to do in the WWE full-time? beat his body up until he can no longer walk? or return as a GM, making pennies compared to what hes making in Hollywood?

I think Hunter is around A- level honestly. He's a lil higher than B+ He was arguably the top heel during the biggest boom period they've had.

Yeah but at the same time he was working with all time great talent like Rock,Austin, and Foley. That made him seem better than he was imo. His mid 2000's run exposed him.
