This album is definitely a treat. The internet opted out of using synths and more traditional instrumentation. Its drastic considering how much was on the last record "Feel Good". The album also starts immediately instead of having a standard intro that is drawn out and more moving. Opening with "Get Away" was dope, it sets the tone of the album: lots of Falsetto and the Bass Guitar is the central instrument of Ego Death(Lots of bass licks, lines, fills, riffs, you name it).I'm really dig this record. All the colloborators that were tapped to assist with the record outside of Janelle Monae and Kaytranada, didn't do much to add to the songs but they were appreciated. Overall I'm feeling it mad heavy. It's definitely something that will get repeated spins throughout the year.

The growth! The mufukkin GROWTH! The maturity of content from PNL to FG was magnificent, but they're on a whole new level with this. Syd is improving vocally on every album. Like
@HideoKojima said, the switch to traditional instrumentation was definitely a good look. It's a lot warmer. I'ma cook up a damn near 1000 word blog post on their growth. Did yall hear that ode to Dwele (Find A Way) on Just Sayin? :ohlawd:

Can't wait to get the physical copy in my hands

That first track :damn:

I know this might sound bad but I wish the lead singer looked as good as she sounds :scusthov: :mjcry:
Syd was kinda cute as a girly girl. He looks like my eritrean friend
