This is not true bro. Wilt's team was actually the favourite that year. He had the best team. His team was superior to the Celtics which had already began to fade by the mid 60's. Wilt played with multiple all stars in their prime already at this time.

Because they had Bill Russell. They were totally washed in 1969. Auerbarch had already retired and Bill Russell was player/coach. Wilt was with the Lakers next to Jerry West. His team was seen as the clear favorite in 1969 and Chamberlain still lost.

The fact that he literally spent an entire season stat-padding assists because people were criticizing him too much for stat-padding points is NOT a good look for your argument.

Anyone who doesn't think that Wilt was obsessed with his numbers and openly tried to pad them is not dealing with reality. We've covered this before.
