To be honest who cares if the Tunnel is back? The past is done. I'm from NYC but god damn the old days are over already. I mean what guys think the place can have a shoot out or a stabbing and be open next week like its nothing? I mean I know he means well but this has to be the dumbest thing ever to show that NYC is back. A watered down version of the tunnel is not what is going to go it but rappers from the city putting out quality and we supporting it. Troy Ave is garbage and the most he can be is uncle murda 2014 .
I see what you're saying. But if you look on all those instagram pictures that shyt looked live. If the club pulls in plenty of money for boom bap hip-hop monthly, that might trigger something where a ton of clubs across the country try to emulate it. I can see Los Angeles/Hollywood trying something similar, we're as depressed about the quality of music here outside of Kendrick for awhile now. If this does that happen, record labels are gonna follow the money trail and may just lead to changes on the radio and overall fashion trends. Looking at the pictures, cats were posted up with jerseys, doo rags, and beanies up in there.
I can't comment on how it used to go down at the actual club itself, but the effect it may have in terms of music being played and people going there to listen to that music is the big picture. If NY does get brought back, that's a major market.
