I don't know that, because, as so many coli posters like to point out, the popularity of the ice bucket challenge has little to do with ALS at all. It's about capitalizing of the 'attention whore-ness' of people who'd want to be a part of something viral.
People planked for no cause, people did the Harlem Shake for no cause. This campaign successfully rolled people's desire to participate in the next viral social media phenomena into supporting their cause.... and for some reason this has you bitter nikkas mad.
exactly. i HIGHLY doubt that any of these people doing the bucket challenge did research on it, found out 93% of the affected are white, and said YES LETS DEFINITELY GET BEHIND IT! i doubt most people did any research at all.

Sorry for your lost in your family but as a black man it doesnt affect you that these bullshyt ass black sports players etc... are doing a challenge for people with ALS which only affects 7 percent of their race than a movement like Fergueson.
I don't understand why they can't do both but I've come to expect Black upperclass folk to not have any Black pride. On the other hand, very few knew about ALS a few weeks ago.
u cant compare tho. ferguson is a serious subject that leads off the news and has the potential to cause a MAJOR event if the cop walks away from this.
the als thing is just a fun little silly social media fad for a good cause.
black athletes and celebrities are allowed to feel a certain way about ferguson and also do this silly challenge that takes less than 10 minutes and make a quick donation. alot of them have stepped up and voiced their opinions about mike brown but as far as actions, what exactly do u want from them? quit the nba and take up arms against white people and police? donations arent gonna help in that case and it has a ton more attention then the als shyt.
