Actually filmed some of this at a boarding school I went to (mostly the chapel scenes) :ehh:

Gave me some memories seeing parts of that campus. Enjoyed the film but like others said that Boston piece wasn’t really necessary. Still a solid 7/10 for me

This was a decent watch. Thought the movie was about the teacher and all the holdover students but it ended up being about the one kid and the teacher after they bushed the other kids. Some funny parts tho.

Really enjoyed it. Paul Giammati has never turned in a wack performance.

Dude sacrificed his job so Tully didn’t go to military school, where he would’ve ended up fighting in the Vietnam War and end up dead. Similar to how Mary’s son died. Paul basically saved his life :wow:

Really, really enjoyed it and definitely think it's going to end up being a holiday film people watch years from now. The studio really fukked up by not giving it a longer theater release because this definitely is the type of film that could have made a loooot of money through December and January. It still did well in the limited release window too.

Giamatti is magnificent as are the other actors. It's hard to describe the film without just smiling. I just love the chemistry between the characters, and the ending is perfect. the way he sacrifices his career to literally save a boy's life.

Revisited this thread just to say that this will be at the top of my Christmas rewatches going forward. Really fond of this movie.
