Zaid Jilani went super :mjpls: as of late.

Why is he so aggy about the 1619 project? The inaccuracies and distortions he keeps talking about to the extent that they exists are largely minor and inconsequential.

adolph reed jr revealed that there were right wingers offering money to himself and other class reductionists to take that step to the alt right. lee fang looks compromised as well.

My wife says she thinks Saagar could run for President for one day.

He does do a better job of rationalizing Trump’s bullshyt of probably anyone I’ve seen.

:scust: He’s basically a paleo-conservative with a liberal economic ideology. I don’t know who he appeals to outside young ringers who think Shapiro is high pitch libertarian hack

He’s socially conservative and to the left of the Republican party economically. That appeals to a lot of people. With as many racists there in this country, the only thing that keeps them from winning more elections is their adherence to supply side economics and neoliberalism. Adopting socially right/economically left politics is only way Republicans can expand their electoral map in the future.

He would never be allowed to govern that way. Trump basically ran the same platform in 2016 and all the austerity/deficit Hawks/neocons were on his ass praying for his downfall up until Election Day. And trump is white/rich/has charisma. Speaking of Shapiro, he’s endorsing trump now when he didn’t back in 2016 solely due to him basically governing like a typical rethug. We will never see a progressive economic republican in our lifetime

Whether he governed that way or not I can’t really say, but I think his politics can resonate with a lot of the public.

Trump captured something with his blatant fascism and bigotry. When someone whether it’s Saagar or whoever can tap into that Nazi well in a more subtle, refined less overt way and distance themselves from supply side economics and be more of a economic populist, watch out.
